We need more sick people

The debate over "universal" health care is a smoke screen.
The ruling elite seem to be accomplishing at least four goals:
1. Insure that people who are sick cannot afford treatment and therefore will die sooner.
2. Capture all wealth so as to prevent any monetary advantage for the non-elite in the future.
3. When comparing our broken system with another country's:
show how 'their's is worse than ours."
4. Everyone believe "we can't afford".

I worked in the public sector where budget restrictions were a yearly event. I marveled when an institution had claimed it couldn't afford even a $1,00 per month pay but could easily find "extra money" if an emergency arose. Our national policy of waging war regardless of common sense is the most obscene example of how the elite can find funds for what they want but not what people need.

When listening--you have to hear what is not being said as well as the words themselves. In the current debate over a supposed "health care crisis", the loudest silence includes:

1. Medicare. Medicare, as an insurance program, is the most efficiently run company in the world with total administrative cost 1/5 th any other insurance company in the private sector.
2. The Preamble to the US Constitution. This first paragraph promises a government that "promotes the general welfare".
3. More sick people, greater profit. .
4. Better health care, increasing minority population.
5. Each person has a right to the best care.

Hopefully, in the spirit of KOBOW, you can expand this list and approach the "discussion" with greater insight. We must demand programs that do promote the general welfare.
